Havana, Cuba. April 2017 | Part I (part II here)
Lauren and I made a trip to Cuba last week.
We spent three days exploring Havana and one day we made it out to the countryside and wandered Viñales. It’s quite clear we didn’t have nearly enough time and we need to go back, sometime I hope very soon.
Cuba is an amazing and fascinating place. So much history, culture, art and music. Some of my favorite moments were the late night jazz we caught at a few small rooms and then walking back through the lively streets.
But most all of all, I loved connecting with the people we met. So warm and kind. We were invited into people homes and hearing their stories.  Living a hard life for sure, each in their own way.

Walden Pond, Concord | March 2017
Days are getting longer now. March 2017.
Earlier this month I attended a business conference in Tucson, Arizona. The conference ended a few days before I had planned to meet up with Lauren and the kids in Los Angeles.
So when the conference ended, I rented a car and spent a few days driving and exploring the desert on my own, as I traveled west.
I spent a night in Joshua Tree park. I had never been before and I was really looking forward to making the visit. The Joshua trees were beginning to bloom. Everything was so peaceful and beautiful. I made a two hour hike in the morning and just took in the solitude.
On Sunday, Lauren and I wandered around Walden Pond taking in the new snowfall and making photographs. Everything looked so beautiful.
Back when we first started dating, I brought Lauren to this place. And ever since I have felt such a strong connection to this pond and these woods.
