It’s amazing what you can achieve with a small dedicated team when you start from first principles and aren’t encumbered by the established way of doing things

Larry Page

Boston Public Gardens with James

Last week I had dinner with a friend of mine who recently had a successful surgery that removed a cancerous tumor. He’s a few years younger than me.

I won’t forget one thing he said to me in particular. He now looks at everything in life as if it is in slow motion — paying attention to every little detail during each day.

A powerful, wonderful thought and something on my mind ever since.

Ben Kweller — Brighton Music Hall, Massachusetts

I flew back home yesterday from NYC after my panel at Techcrunch Disrupt. I made it in time to see my daughters lacrosse game, then my sons baseball game and after that Lauren and I went to see Ben play in Brighton.

Two BK shows in one week. Perfect.

Penny On The Train Track — Ben Kweller

I have been in NYC the last few days for meetings. Yesterday Ben sent me a txt letting me know he was playing at the Bowery. I love seeing Ben play live and the Bowery is such an awesome venue. And it was a blast hanging with Ben, Fred & Joanne before and during the show.

Ben rocked the Bowery last night. Played the entire set on guitar, no keyboard, no acoustic guitar.

So many great songs but as always he closed with Penny. It was the first time I had heard him play it without the piano.

(our BK love fest continues….lauren and i already had plans to see him when I get back to Boston tonight!)
