It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head
Tucson, Arizona
I made it out for a quick photo walk before dinner tonight. The colors and feel of this place is so different and distinct. So peaceful.
I have a bit of advice for anyone getting into photography for the first time: practice with a digital camera then as soon as you can buy a roll of film and load it into a Leica, any Leica, even an old beat-up one. Then start taking pictures. You’ll find the experience very special, a little magical. You’ll find yourself part of the world.

I arrived in Tucson late last night. The desert is beautiful but I haven’t had a chance to get out and take photographs. Hopefully I will be able to make some time tomorrow.
But the hotel here has a few high powered telescopes so I put my camera up to one of them tonight, opened the aperture and held it steady at 1/30sec and took this photograph of the moon. One of those days I wish I had packed my tripod. The stars are just incredible.
