Congratulations to @dens and @chelsa. Such a beautiful wedding & party!
My oldest daughter has been under the weather for the last month. Started with dizziness, then frequent/daily headaches and fatigue. Mild fever for the past two weeks.
She has had many lab tests followed by a chest xray. Two weeks ago she had a ct scan.
They don’t exactly know what it is affecting her so. They ruled out the bad stuff. Right now, they think it’s the tail end of Mononucleosis but we aren’t completely sure. She is seeing more doctors later this week.
It’s hard not to worry all the time about your kids during the normal course of life. But when they get sick it just feels so bad. I wish there was something I could do to make it all go away but I can’t.
So I tend to worry. Likely too much. Lauren has much better perspective about these things (okay, probably all things) than I do and she keeps me grounded. Maybe its because she was a registered nurse back in the day or maybe because she is just wise.
This morning the two of us drove back from upstate New York. The sun was out, the leaves were falling and the drive was wonderful. I’m sure at one point, my mind started drifting and worrying again about our daughter. Then Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” came on the radio and she started singing along:
Singin’: “Don’t worry ‘bout a thing
Cause every little thing gonna be all right.”
Singin’: “Don’t worry (don’t worry) ’bout a thing
Cause every little thing gonna be all right!”
When the song was over, Lauren looked at me, smiled and said:
“So just how high was Bob when those birds sang to him”

911 Memorial
We went down to to the 911 Memorial yesterday. I hadn’t been there before. The Memorial places a flower next to each victims name on their birthday.
We just walked around pretty much in silence.
Dear friends, I know, my (old) Leicatime site is quite confusing, not so easy to surf.
I have been hearing about Mr. Crescenzi’s craftsmanship for years on various Leica and photography blogs. He makes handmade cases in Italy. One at time. I finally decided to buy one for my own Leica camera.
I find it touching that his site is not only ancient but comes with an apology from the man himself.

My daughter, Sophia.
