I have been suffering under email overload seemingly forever.
It has been especially difficult with our ever connected lifestyle (more on that subject in a future post).
But for the last 5 days I have been at inbox zero each day which may not sound like a lot but I have truly never, ever been an inbox zero kind of person. In fact, outside of declaring email bankruptcy, I never imagined it possible.
Ok, so without further delay, here is how I am doing it.
First step. Sign up for Sanebox. I’m not an investor but the founder is one of my closest friends. It is an amazing service that automatically sorts your important email from your less important email. I have been a paid subscriber since day 0.
Next, start using Inbox for Gmail on your phone and web browser (unfortunately there isn’t a native MacOS app).
I tried Inbox for Gmail when it first came out but it seemed odd to me, so I bailed on it super quick. But last week Nabeel encouraged me to give it a real try and I’m very happy I did. It took me about 15 minutes to really grok it. And after using it for a day it has become second nature. The combination of Inbox for Gmail and Sanebox is critically important so please follow the instructions here.
