Creating apps should be as easy as Hypercard

It’s been a long time since I’ve written any software that actually worked.

I miss the days of Hypercard where anyone could build apps so easily. It was a big deal and so innovative at the time. I fondly rememebered the genius behind Hypercard when I blogged about it last summer on my old blog.

Wired has an interview with Bill Atkinson who created Hypercard and MacPaint (one of my favorite apps ever).

Bill seems to have some regrets about Hypercard and the article itself is called “What Could Have Been”.

But instead I  would rather say ‘thanks Bill’ for the great software. I wish all apps were this easy to create.

Something to think about.
