So much creativity with constraints
That’s probably one reason I’m so fond of this new camera of mine - the fuji x100.
It’s small, beautiful, yet quirky. This thing takes amazing photos even at high ISO.
But my favorite part. The lens is constrained.
The x100 comes with a built in fixed, focal-length lens. It’s roughly equivalent to a 35mm lens. That’s it.
If I want a tighter shot, i move forward or get on the ground, or climb on a wall or chair. If i want a wider shot, i step back. No fussing or messing with additional lenses.
It’s perfect for my needs - I love the constraint.

@williamwright - Leica’s have fixed lenses because the rangefinder system makes zooms impossible. I agree though, zooms introduce another layer of complexity. No need for them unless you’re constrained to a spot (like sports or nature photographers).

ha’ that’s how i shoot without constraint. much prefer ‘getting in there’ for a picture - doing some work instead of letting the camera do it all for me. nice pictures, lately.
