Kindred Spirits
I often cite Boxee and Bug Labs in the same sentence these days.
They are both in New York City, they are both early stage companies and they are both portfolio companies in our firm, Spark Capital and our friends at Union Square Ventures.
But the thing that really makes them kindred spirits is their founding belief in the power of open source and transparency.
My friend Fred Wilson has a post up about the new Bug Labs user interface project. Peter and the team at Bug Labs are working with IDEO on the next UI for the BUGbase. And they are going to develop the new UI with the community along the way.
IDEO & Bug is asking for feedback and opinions from the Bug community, developers and end users. Its a terrific idea and I hope many of you will choose to participate.
