Bit.ly

Bit.ly is a very cool url shortner

But the best part is the captured data behind the custom URLs

For example, my earlier tweet about the OpenCoffee Twitter meetup included this bit.ly url

http://bit.ly/1F8ann

Happily a bunch of people retweeted it along with that url.

You can see on the Bit.ly stats page my link generated about 1200 1500 clicks. Bit.ly stats include traffic sources, clicks per time per time of day and clicks by country.

That’s very interesting data. I’m curious to know more about the 800+ clicks coming from “No Referrer” at the bottom. I’ll have to dig into that one with the Bit.ly folks. (Update: John and Todd from Bit.ly gave “no refferrer” explaination in the comments. Thanks guys!)
