We need better content sync.
Apple’s iTunes app does a very good job handling simple sync between the computer and the ipod/iphone.
As local storage on PCs have expanded, there is a greater need to sync intelligently with devices that have less storage capabilities.
Consider the sync needs of a desktop computer and a flash based laptop or iphone.
The playlist sync is a powerful idea to sync a subset of your computer’s media with the ipod/iphone. I have a Smart Playlist that automatically syncs the last 200 songs I add to iTunes to my iphone.
I want the same capability for all files regardless of the datatype (documents, photos, videos, music). That would be an elegant way to share files between my MacBook Air (with modest storage) and my desktop Macs (with massive storage)
It would be even better if it was cross platform.
I’ve been playing around with Dropbox which is a fanastic app and has the right idea. But I also want the option of local (faster) sync and I want it to work without me having to remember to put certain files in certain folders.
As the family sysadmin it would make my life much easier :)
