How Tumblr makes me better
I really believe that blogging has made me a much better founder and CEO of SimulScribe. Blogging has become such an important communications means with the market and really understanding it is hard without doing it.
I started this blog because I saw what Fred Wilson, Josh Kopelman and Bijan Sabet were doing and realized that the reason they understood the space so well is because they did not study it but used it.
A lot of CEO’s have blogs, some of them are written by PR people, etc. While it might be better than doing nothing on the PR and Marketing front it does not help the CEO to better understand how to truly leverage the blog world for their company. Further being plugged in personally to the blogs assists in better data collection which hopefully creates better decisions (I think that it does).
Please in no way misconstrue this post to mean that I write this blog and post because I feel obliged to as a job. I love Tumblr, I love posting stuff and I love what the blog has done for me personally. It is nice that something that I enjoy so much also has such a great side effect of really assisting me in my position with SimulScribe.
Great post from Jamie about why he blogs and uses Tumblr.
(and I’m extremely flattered that I somehow contributed to his blogging start.)
