Thoughts about doing interviews
I received an interview request from a magazine today. The subject was about venture capitalists who blog.
I like talking about blogging. And I like talking about why I blog.
But I really wanted to do this *particular* interview over email. The last time i did an interview on this very subject I thought my best statements didn’t make it to print. Instead only a comment that was a bit misundertsood made the actual article. I also did a video interview on this VC blogging subject. It was a bit better but clearly I have a face for blogging not video :)
So this particular writer decided that in the end she didn’t want to interview me if she couldn’t do it “live”. I hope she changes her mind. She seemed very nice.
I’ll probably do “live interviews” if they are about our portfolio companies. Happy to talk about them all day long.
But if they are only about me than I’ll probably just stick to the email interview setup. (Unless it’s the WSJ and they want to put a pencil drawing of me next to the article. My partner Santo has one of those. And that’s pretty cool.)
