Moving from the Wii to the Xbox & need suggestions
We are moving to a new house next month (god willing).
It’s been a good excuse for me to make some new decisions on a new phone systems, wireless routers, back up systems and TV. I’ll likely write about those decisions in a future post.
We have had a Nintendo Wii at our house since they first came out. The kids mostly play games on the ipad or iphones. But when they have friends over they hit the Wii.
In the new house I’m planning on adding a Xbox + Kinect for the kids and for me.
But I’m a complete xbox noob. So I’d love to hear any recommendations for games for the kids (ages 6, 10, 12, 43) and any accessories I should pick up beyond the Kinect.
Thanks!

Wii is more family oriented from personal experience. Whever we have guests over, we crack out Mario Kart, or Rock band, Wii Sports and no matter the age, we all enjoy it. Wii, for the win.

Wireless controllers are nice, but replacing the batteries over and over (especially if you have more than one controller) can be annoying…wired (official) Xbox controllers are underrated.

lego games always seem to be a hit. i’m more a fan of the dance games like just dance 3 or dance central 2. i think any game where the whole family can play is good. is the 43 yo kid, yourself? assassin’s creed? cod? halo? do u do bloody games? lol

if you don’t have rock-band and the associated accessories, I’d highly recommend it

Wireless remotes to avoid tangle and maybe an Xbox Live subscription and a few headsets to go with that. Other than that, you should be good. I recommend the Lego Star Wars games for your kids and maybe Halo and Call of Duty for yourself.

Halo for the 12 an 43 year old. Kinectimals for the six year old. Kinect Sports for all.
